Alternatively, it can sponsor more than 400 meals at local congregate meal sites, where seniors can gather, share stories, and enjoy companionship. If you are able to donate more, a $2,500 or $5,000 gift will provide even more meals and outreach services, helping to create a stronger, healthier community for our elderly population.
How we vet recipient partners
At Carolina Charities Auto, we carefully select partner organizations that meet rigorous vetting criteria. We prefer to work with Area Agencies on Aging-contracted providers that adhere to federal and state accountability standards. Additionally, our partners are members of the Meals on Wheels America network and comply with the nutrition standards set forth in the Older Americans Act Title III-C. We ensure that these programs either have no waiting lists or very short waiting lists, indicating their financial health and capability to serve.
How proceeds flow
After covering towing and processing costs, approximately 70-80% of the gross proceeds from your vehicle donation reach our partner organizations. From there, we apply a program ratio to ensure that funds are allocated effectively to support senior meal programs. This transparent approach helps maximize the impact of every vehicle donation, ensuring that your contribution directly benefits the seniors who rely on these essential services.
